One of my favorite things in India are flowers. They're everywhere, affordable and present on every special occasion. The most typical one are marigolds, in orange and yellow, and they use them in pujas, cars, bikes, door decorations, garlands... Here are some photos I took during Navratri festival, enjoy your weekend!
Today we're visiting a different market in Barcelona, the Mercat de Santa Caterina, located in the Born quarter, with a colorful wavy roof and all kind of fishes inside. I fell in love with the intense red tuna hues, what about you?

Sant Josep Market (La BoquerĆa) was previously on the blog, but I like to visit it whenever I have the time and mingle with the old ladies who go to shop food with their trolleys and the tourists who go to drink a fruit juice with their cameras.
As usual I visited the typical bazaar of my destination, Khan el Khalili. Overfilled with souvenirs and trinkets of all kinds, apart from lots of jewelries. The best was the picturesque mirrors cafƩ, El Fishawy, perfect to have shisha and relax after dealing with the chaos in Cairo.
Y hoy toca mercado!
Market day! I can't help it, I love discovering the markets of the places I visit to see (and eat) the local specialities. In Bergen there's a wonderful fish and seafood market where you can try, apart from salmon, smoked whale meat (yes, whale!) and lot of snacks facing the port and Bryggen.
You already know how much I like visiting markets in every city, so I had to walk in the flower market during my trip to Amsterdam, full of colourful tulips and some other flowers.
I must confess my favourite flower market is Mysore's, with the messy narrow streets full of flower mountains with a sweet fragance, but this wasn't bad at all, and it's floating on one of the channels.
As you know, local markets are something I really enjoy, so I couldn’t resist visiting a couple of them in Paris and buying some varieties of the wonderful French cheese.
KapalıƧarÅı and Mısır ĆarÅısı Bazaars, Istanbul (Turkey)

When I travel, one of the things I enjoy the most, apart from discovering the local fashion, is the food. I love tasting new flavours, and in Istanbul sweets are amazing, I can still remember the baklava melting in my mouth…
And walking through the Spice Bazaar and Grand Bazaar was like going to fantasyland, with all the smells, colors and shiny stuff!
One of the things I enjoy the most when I travel (apart from going to the highest point and tasting the specialities of the place) is discovering a market, so every time I come to Barcelona I stop by at la BoquerĆa. We went there before entering the Barri GĆ²tic of the city. Is admirable how perfectly everything has been placed, and the colours all over it. Moreover it is a scent fest; tropical fruits, cheese, bakery, seafood, vegetables… here are some images, but if you get the chance go and try whatever catches your attention!
