After showing you lots of images from my trip to Paris, here is the last post about the city, even more wonderful at night, when all the lights start shinning!
París tiene infinitos museos, puedes amanecer en l’Orangerie perdíendote en jardines de nenúfares pintados por Monet, comer en los salones del Musée d’Orsay rodeada de maravillas impresionistas y con vistas al Sena, sorprenderte en el moderno Centre Pompidou, admirar las inigualables obras del Espacio Dalí o creer que vuelas junto a la Victoria de Samotracia por las galerías del Louvre. Cuál es tu favorito?
There are endless museums in Paris, you can start the day at l’Orangerie surrounded by Les nymphéas painted by Monet, have lunch at the Musée d’Orsay among impressionist wonders with views to the Seine, be amazed by the modern Centre Pompidou, admire the unique works of art at Espacio Dalí or believe you can fly by the Victory of Samothrace at the Louvre. Which one is your favorite?
Hay un rincón mágico en el Jardin des Plantes, con laberínticas colinas y suelos cubiertos de hojas amarillas que crujen al pisar. Es el mejor lugar para disfrutar del otoño.
There's a magic place in the Jardin des Plantes, with paths up the hills and yellow leaves covering the ground and cracking as you walk on them. It's the best place to enjoy autumn.
A veces en París sale el sol, y la ciudad brilla. Para aprovechar el buen tiempo lo mejor es subir a lo más alto de la Torre Eiffel y disfrutar de la vista panorámica, solo comparable a la que hay desde el Arc de Triomphe, desde dónde se puede ver la propia Torre. Somedays the Sun shines in Paris, and the city sparkles. To enjoy the weather you can go up the Eiffel Tower, with an amazing view.
Los Jardines de Luxemburgo tienen bastante mas encanto que las Tuileries, por lo menos en esta época del año, aunque los barquitos de vela los reservan para días mas cálidos.
The Jardin du Luxembourg is more charming than the Tuileries, at least during this season, even when the small sailing boats are not there.
Versalles siempre ha sido un sitio idílico, todavía recuerdo las historias que nos contaba un profesor de la ESO sobre el salon de los espejos, y después de ver hace años la película de Sofía Coppola sobre la vida de Maria Antonieta es un lugar al que tenía muchas ganas de ir.
Versailles has always been an idyllic place, I can still remember the stories my teacher use to tell us about the mirrors hall, and after watching Sofia Coppola’s movie about Marie Antoinette it’s a place I’ve been looking forward to visit.
En París llueve, y eso es así. Pero a pesar del mal clima hay muchos puentes por los que pasear. Solo hace falta un paraguas, unas botas calentitas y hacer pequeños descansos para tomar un crêpe!
It rains in Paris, and that’s the way it is. But, leaving the weather aside, there are lots of bridges to walk over. You only need an umbrella, a pair of waterproof boots and take a break every now and then to have a crêpe!
Cumplo un año más tras unos días de paz en una colina francesa.
Las vacaciones han sido geniales. Sonrisas, silencio, trenzas, el perfume de las lilas al amanecer, extrañas mariposas, té frío a las 5, escapadas en la mejor compañía, atardeceres en la hierba con guitarras de fondo, y noches de tertulia con fuet, bolachas y chocolate. Risas y luz.
I’m a year older, after a few days of peace in a French hill.
The holidays have been great. Smiles, silence, braids, the scent of lilacs in the morning, strange butterflies, ice tea at 5, breakaways in the best company, sunsets on the grass with guitar background and nights chatting with fuet, bolachas and chocolate. Laughter and light.
