El fin de semana fueron las fiestas de la Mercè en Barcelona. Y unos cuantos pudimos disfrutar del concierto de Mando Diao en la Antigua fábrica de Estrella Damm. El diluvio que nos calló encima mereció la pena.
Last weekend Mercè festival took place in Barcelona, and a few of us were lucky enough to enjoy Mando Diao’s concert at the old Estrella Damm brewery. The pouring rain was part of the fun.

Lo gracioso fue ver cómo, aunque el grupo ha madurado, los fans son cada vez más jóvenes. Hará unos cinco años que fuí a verlos por primera vez… ellos eran unos juerguistas que llevaban chupas de cuero medio abiertas y le gritaban al micrófono, y yo era una groupie que gritaba y perdía el conocimiento cada vez que se quitaban la chupa. Ahora ellos cantan Sheepdog transformada en balada mientras llevan camisas bien abrochadas y yo soy capaz de cenar en el mismo restaurante que ellos sin saltar de la silla y abalanzarme sobre ningún sueco. El señor Noren está mucho más sereno, y la voz de Dixgard impone mucho más, pero siguen siendo ellos, así que según avanza la noche sus camisas vuelan por los aires, y yo retrocedo en el tiempo unos pocos años… just for a day!
The curious thing was seeing a more mature band, but younger fans. It was around 5 years ago when I first saw them live… they were bold guys with semi-opened leather jackets who screamed to the mic, and I was a groupie who screamed and fainted every time they took the jackets off. Now they sing a softer Sheepdog while wearing buttoned up shirts and I’m able to have dinner at the same restaurant they are without jumping from my chair to any Swedish lap. Mr. Noren is more calm, and Dixgard’s voice sound better than ever, but they still are Mando Diao, so after some time they took their shirts off and I go a few years back to the past… just for a day!
Like the summer falls, and the winter crawls…

Hey babe, have you seen that film with those kids in NY in the 80s? doesn't matter cause we r not gonna watch it anyways ;)
