Buenos días! Seguimos con clima frío y hoy os traigo el abrigo que nunca ha estado tan de moda como esta temporada: el plumífero! Este tipo de abrigo lleva un par de temporadas viéndose mucho por las calles, gracias a lo cómodo y abrigado que es y, aunque la versión clásica sigue llevándose, han surgido nuevas tendencias de abrigos de plumas y chaquetas guateadas que aportan un toque mucho más moderno.

Good morning! The cold season is not over yet, so I want to talk about one of the stars of the season: the puffer jacket! This kind of outerwear has been a trend for a while, thanks to its comfort and warmth. Its classic version always worrk, but there are new puffer jackets and quilted coats that have a modern touch worth mentioning.

1. El plumífero clásico / The classic puffer

El típico abrigo de plumas, también conocido como mi abrigo de esquimal o de muñeco Michelin, es un clásico ideal para esos días de frío polar en los que no queremos ni salir de casa. Es la versión ponible de un edredón nórdico, ideal para días de lluvia, nieve, excursiones a la montaña...

Your classic down coat, also know as my Eskimo coat and my Michelin costume. It is a basic style perfect for polar cold days where we do not feel like leaving our bed. It is the portable version of an eiderdown. It is wonderful for rainy or snowy days and trips to the mountain.

Si estáis buscando el vuestro os recomiendo uno que sea impermeable, que cierre con cremallera y también con una solapa de automáticos encima, que tenga capucha de las que se pueden quitar o poner, que lleve puños calentitos en las mangas, y que lo elijáis en un color neutro. Podéis combinarlo con pantalones ajustados, botas calentitas, un buen jersey debajo y guantes.

If you are looking for one let me reccomend you a water-repellant option, with a zip closure topped with a flap with snap buttons, removable hood, warm snug sleeve cuffs and a neutral color. You can match it with slim pants, warm boots, a nice sweater and gloves.

2. El agrigo guateado ligero / The lightweight quilted coat

Este tipo de abrigo que Uniqlo llevó a su mejor versión, tiene unas características que lo hacen fantástico; es muy ligero y fino, lo que lo hace enrollable y suele venir con una bolsita para guardarlo y llevarlo con facilidad en tu bolso o maleta, es muy fino, por lo que es ideal para los días de poco frío o para llevar debajo de  abrigos o chaquetas que no abrigan mucho, y es impermeable, algo siempre viene bien en días de lluvia y climas húmedos.

This kind of coat was perfectioned by Uniqlo years ago and has some details that make it great; it is very light and thin, which make it foldable into a tiny bag so you can carry it anywhere, it is thin, so you can use it for not-so-cold days but also wear it under fancier coats on colder days, and it is water repellant, ideal for rainy days and humid weather.

Si os hacéis con uno y queréis que os sirva para llevar debajo de otras prendas lo mejor es que elijáis uno que no tenga cuello y que el largo sea menor al de las otras prendas. Un color neutro también ayuda. Los tenéis disponibles con el acolchado a rayas, rombos, chevron y más, y también en diferentes largos e incluso sin mangas en versión chaleco.

If you want to use it as an undercoat you should pick one that has no collar and that is shorter than your other coats and jackets. A neutral collar also helps. You can find them in endless versions; quilted in stripes, diamond, chevron and more, different lenghts and even sleeveless.

3. El plumas metalizado / The metallic puffer

El modelo más llamativo es el metalizado, que en ocasiones también incluye un brillo holográfico súper futurista, sin duda el unicornio de los plumíferos. 

The metallic puffer is the flashiest model, which also has an holographic shine sometimes, really cool and modern, and basically the unicorn of puffer jackets. 

Para este modelo tan llamativo yo prefiero que sea en versión corta, y combinarlo siempre con blanco o negro para un look más pulido. 

Since this is already very eye-catching I prefer a short version, matching it always with black or white for a neat outfit.

4. El guateado a ondas / The wavy quilted jacket

Este tipo de guateado, que prácticamente todas las marcas han versionado, se lo debemos a Frankie Shop y su exitazo de chaqueta guateada Teddy, que se caracteriza por colores neutros como el khaki, una silueta en forma de trapecio y un guateado a ondas, rompiendo con los tradicionales guateados de lineas rectas.

This kind of quilting, that almost every brand has recreated, was originally a Frankie Shop design. Their quilted Teddy jacket is a hit launched in khaki and other neutrals and with an oversized trapezoid silhouette and a wavy quilting, breaking with previous straight line quilts.

A mí me encanta para días en el campo porque es fina, ligera y corta el viento, lo que la hace muy cómoda para actividades en la naturaleza. 

I love wearing it in the countryside since it is thin, light and a great windbreaker, which makes it a great choice for outdoors activities.

5. El plumas chic / The chic puffer

Por último os traigo un modelo con un toque más chic, gracias a este cuello que se puede dejar suelto o anudar a modo de bufanda. 

And the last one is a down coat with a chic touch, thanks to its unique collar, that you can leave open or tie it as a scarf. 

Es una opción perfecta para looks un poco más sofisticados en los que queremos ir bien cómodas y abrigadas pero con un plumas que sea algo más elegante.

It is a pretty nice option for more sophisticated looks when you want to be comfy and warm but with a n elegant down coat.

Good morning! Winter is here, so today I would like to share 10 of my favorite items to get through this season. They are small things that make our life better during these cold months. Let's start! 

1. La manta calentita / The warm blanket

Yo soy muy fan de taparme con una manta cuando estoy en el sofá, lo hago incluso en verano, así que una manta que encima se encienda y te caliente me parece el gran invento! No os perdáis esta!

I am a big blanket fan, I cover myself with one everytime I'm on the sofa, even in Summer, so a blanket that you can turn on and keeps you extra warm is the greatest idea! Do not miss this one!

2. La botella térmica / The insulated bottle

Para amantes del té o el café una botella térmica es esencial para conservar la temperatura de las bebidas, sobre todo si nos vamos de excursión. Nada como tomarse un té calentito gracias a esta botella que retiene el calor hasta 12 horas!

An isulated bottle is a must for tea and coffee lovers so we can keep our beverages at the right temperature, specially when we go out. There is nothing like a hot beverage when you are hikking or in the middle of the snow. This one stays hot up to 12 hours!

4. Las zapatillas de borreguito / The sheepskin slippers

Los pies siempre es la parte del cuerpo donde más frio tengo, por eso si estoy en casa los mantengo abrigados con unas zapatillas de borreguito como estas.

My feet are always the coldest part of my body, so I usually wear sheepskin slippers like these ones to keep them warm at home.

5. Las orejeras / The ear muffs

Las orejas ocupan la segunda posición en esa lista, así que siempre las llevo tapadas con un gorro, una cinta o unas orejeras bien abrigadas como estas. 

Ears might be the second coldest part of my body, so I try to cover them with a hat, a headband or earmuffs like these ones.

6. La crema para la piel / The skin cream

El frío suele resecar bastante la piel, así que utilizo mi crema favorita bastante, sobre todo en las manos y pies.

Cold weather dries my skin a lot, so I make sure I use my favorite cream, specially on my hands and feet.

7. El protector de  labios / The lips protector

Los labios también sufren bastante con el frío, secándose e incluso partiéndose con pequeñas heridas, por eso siempre los llevo bien protegidos con esto, y también con la mascarilla!

Lips also suffer a lot in cold windy weather, getting dry and even breaking at some point, so I always protect them with this, and also with my mask.

8. El jersey de cuello alto / The turtleneck sweater

Los jerseys y bodys de cuello alto se convierten en mi uniforme desde noviembre hasta febrero cada año, y si me seguís desde hace tiempo es algo que ya habréis notado. Me resultan imprescindibles para mantener mi garganta sana durante los meses más fríos, y aún así siempre suelo llevar un pañuelo o una bufanda sobre ellos. Este es sin duda mi modelo favorito.

Turtleneck sweaters and bodies are my uniform from November until February every single year, which you know if you have been following me for a while. They are the safest way to keep my throat healthy during these cold months, and even then, I usually add a scarf on top. This has been my favorite for a while.

9. El paraguas plegable invertido / The compact reverse umbrella

Ya sabemos que en esta época puede llover en cualquier momento, así que yo voy siempre preparada con un paraguas plegado que llevo en cualquier bolso. Me encanta este sistema de paraguas invertido que hace que el paraguas no se vuelva ni cuando hace mucho viento.

We know it tends to rain anytime in Winter, so I always carry a folding umbrella in my bag. I love this reverse umbrella system that makes it stay strong even on windy days.

10. Las botas de agua / The rain boots

Para días que sabemos que llueve o nieva, no salgo de casa sin mis botas de agua. Mis favoritas son estas, pero cuando viajo prefiero llevarme algo más ligero como éstas!

For those rainy or snowy days, I always wear my rain boots. These ones are my favorites, but when I travel I usually take with me something lighter, like this pair.

Qué es? 

El Foreo Luna es un aparato similar a un cepillo facial, pero mucho mejor. Sirve tanto para limpiar la cara en profundidad con tu jabón habitual como para dar un masaje facial aplicando nuestras cremas para que se absorban mejor.

Qué lo hace especial? 

Es resistente al agua, por lo que lo puedes usar sin miedo en la ducha.

Es de silicona, lo que lo hace más higiénico y duradero, puesto que no necesita cambiarle ningún cabezal.

Vibra, gracias a las pulsaciones T-sonic, lo que hace que limpie mejor y de un ligero masaje.

Se carga por USB y solo hace fata cargalo un par de veces al año.

Merece la pena? 

Totalmente! Lo puedes usar una o dos veces al día y el cambio en la piel es alucinante.

Tiene alguna pega?

No. Llevo usándolo más de 3 años y no le veo nada que mejorar.

It is water resistant, so you can use it under the shower.

It is made of silicone, which makes. it more hygienic and durable, so it is really sustainable.

It vibrates using t-sonic pulsationsm so it cleans better and gives a nice massage.

It charges with a USB connection and it just needs to be charged a couple of times per year.

Is it worth it?

Absolutely! You can use it once or twice per day and the change on your skin is amazing.

Does it have any cons?

No. I have been using it for over three years and I can't think of any.

Foreo UFO:

Qué es?

Qué lo hace especial?

Realiza el tratamiento de una mascarilla en 2 minutos, ahorrándonos mucho tiempo.

Por ponerle algún defecto, la batería no dura tanto como en otros dispositivos, por lo que hay que cargarlo cada mes. La tecnología LED que utiliza no sé lo eficaz que será porque es una luz muy suave, con otros dispositivos LED normalmente hay que protegerse los ojos, así que no sé si esta haga mucho.

Is it worth it?

It is a bit pricey, but it is worth it. Your skin looks brand new in just two minutes, but I always go for a second round because it feels amazing.

Does it have any cons?

To mention something negative, the battery does not last as long as in the other devices,  so you have to charge it every month. I am not sure how efficient is the LED technology on this device since it is a very soft light, and most LED therapies I know use such a strong light that you have to protect your eyes.

Foreo BEAR:

Qué es?

El Foreo Bear es un dispositivo de microcorrientes para tonificar los músculos del rostro, definiendo bien los contornos faciales y suavizando las arrrugas.

Qué lo hace especial?

Su diseño y textura de silicona lo hacen muy cómodo de sujetar,  y el tamaño mini es una maravilla.

Se carga por USB y la batería dura bastante.

Además de las microcorrientes, se puede utilizar en combinación con la función de pulsaciones T-sonic.

La App de Foreo tiene varias rutinas creadas para centrarse en diferentes zonas del rostro.

Es resistente al agua, por lo que se limpia bastante bien.

Merece la pena?

Creo que a largo plazo si puede que mejore nuestro rostro, pero los resultados no son tan inmediatos ni visibles como los de Luna o los de UFO.

Tiene alguna pega?

Si no cubres bien la piel con un serum conductor puede darte una sensación de pequeño calambre.

I think it can improve your face in the long term, but you can not really see inmmediate results as you do with Luna and UFO.

Does it have any cons?

If you do not cover your skin properly with a conductive serum, you might get a small sock sensation or a strong tingling.

Foreo ISSA:

Qué es?

El Foreo ISSA es un cepillo de dientes eléctrico que puedes utilizar con tu pasta de dientes habitual.

Qué lo hace especial?

El diseño ergonómico y la silicona hacen que sea muy agradable al sujetarlo, resistente al agua y muy sencillo de limpiar.

Funciona con pulsaciones T-sonic,  que hacen que limpie mejor y dan un ligero masage a las encias

Lleva un temporizador incorporado con pausas cada 30 segundos para asegurar una limpieza a conciencia.

Se carga por USB y la batería dura unos 6 meses. 

Los cabezales de silicona son especialmente suaves para mimar las encías y duran hasta un año sin cambiar.

Merece la pena?

Yo creo que sí. Limpia la boca y los dientes bien y el diseño es fantástico.

Tiene alguna pega?

What is it?

Foreo ISSA is an electric toothbrush that you can use with your regular toothpaste.

What makes it special?

An ergonomic design and a silicone material make it really nice to hold, it is waterproof and easy to clean.

T-sonic pulsations help cleaning better and give a nice massage to your gums.

It has a built in timer with pauses very 30 seconds to mak sure you spend a good time on each side.

Buenos días y feliz año nuevo! El invierno ha llegado y, aunque ha empezado bastante suave, sabemos que la lluvia, la nieve y el viento helado están a la vuelta de la esquina. Nuestro primer instinto suele ser apostar por prendas prácticas cuando el clima está desapacible. Esto está muy bien, y es perfecto para ocasiones puntuales, pero cuando el mal tiempo se alarga durante semanas, o incluso meses, nos aburrimos de vernos con el abrigo de plumas, las UGGs y las botas de agua.

Good morning and happy New Year! Winter is here and, even though it is not that cold yet, we know rain, snow and freezing winds are around the corner. Our first instinct is wearing practical pieces when the weather is bad. Which is fine, and perfect for some days, but if the bad weather stays for weeks, or even months, we can get tired of wearing the puffer and UGGs/rainboots combo.

Así que, si os estáis preguntando "Qué me pongo para un día de frío?" os traigo un buen consejo y una selección de looks para las temperaturas más bajas, la lluvia y la nieve. El truco para mantener el estilo y sobrevivir: Ve a lo GRANDE! Es así de sencillo, no te llenes de capas, abrigos cortos, botines y mil cosas más. Apuesta por el abrigo más grande que tengas, botas alta, siempre adecuadas a la climatología para evitar resbalones, caidas o calcetines empapados, guantes largos, una maxi bufanda y una boina o gorro.

So, if you are wondering "What do I wear on a cold Winter day?" I have a good tip and a selection of outfits for the cold, rainy and snowy days. The trick to stay stylish and survive Winter weather: Go BIG! It is that simple, don't wear short coats, booties and endless layers. Go for your biggest coat, tall boots (weather appropiate to avoid slipping or getting your socks wet) long globes, a maxi scarf and a beret or hat.

1. Abrigo de paño negro / Black wool coat

Combínalo con botas altas y una bufanda extra grande, mejor si aportan algo de color. Yo aprovecho cuando no hay lluvia ni nieve para ponerme mis botas rojas de ante.

Pair it with high boots and a maxi scarf, better if they add a pop of color. I love wearing my red suede boots when there is no chance of rain.

2. Abrigo azul marino / Navy coat

Otro color básico y oscuro, pero que se puede alegrar con accesorios en azul claro. En días de nieve lo combino con mis botas de agua azules, maxi bufanda y boina a juego. 

Another dark neutral, but you can brighten it up with sky blue accessories. I wear it with my blue Hunter boots, maxi scarf and matching beret on snowy days.

3. Abrigo de peluche crudo / Off white furry coat

Para días de muchísimo frio me encanta ponerme un abrigo calentito como este. Si nieva o llueve lo utilizo con unas botas de agua de color y una boina o gorro a juego. 

I love wearing a warm coat like this in super cold days. I pair it with colorful rain boots and matching hat during rain or snow days.  

If there is no risk of rain I wear it with shearling booties or these shearling lace-up boots.

4. Trenca de mohair mostaza / Mustard duffle coat

El mohair es uno de esos materiales estupendos para el frio porque abriga mucho pero casi no pesa, así que esta trenca color mostaza es una buena opción para dar algo más de color. A veces la combino con botas de agua amarillas, y otras con mis botas altas color mostaza. 

Mohair is one of those wonderful fibers for cold days, since it keeps you really warm but it is very light, so this mustard duffle coat is a good option to add some color. Sometimes I wear it with my yellow Hunter boots, and some other I wear them with my mustard over-the-knee boots.

To add some more color I pair it with a hat and shawl in peacock blue, and finish the outfit with long leather gloves so my hands and wrists stay warm!

5. Abrigo azul claro / Sky blue coat

Este abrigo azul tiene un color que me encanta y además es muy calentito. Tiene un cuello enorme que se puede llevar suelto o a modo de bufanda, pero también se puede quitar. Lo suelo combinar con botas y bolso negras o beige y sin bufanda.

I love the blue color of this coat,  and it is very warm. The collar is  really big and  it can be worn loose or wrapped around the neck, but it can also be removed. I usually wear it with boots and bag in beige or black, and there is no need for a scarf.

6. Abrigo de lana rosa / Pink wool coat

Ya sabéis que yo no soy muy de colores oscuros, así que un abrigo como este me alegra los días de mal tiempo. En este caso también me he abrigado con bufanda, boina y guantes en rosa, y bolso y botas en marrón, y también podéis ver un look con maxi bufanda gris.

You know I am not a big fan of dark colors, so a coat like this cheers any bad weather day for me. Here I am wearing it with scarf, beret and gloves in pink, and bag and boots in caramel brown. You can also see me wearing it with a grey maxi scarf. 

7. Trenca roja / Red duffle coat

Las que me seguís por Instagram seguro que ya habéis visto esta trenca roja más de una vez. Como el cuello no es muy abrigado, y ya tiene demasiado adorno por alante, en vez de ponerla con una bufanda, la suelo poner con un jersey grueso de cuello alto. A veces la combino con tonos marrones y a veces con negro, como en esta ocasión. Estas botas negras aunque tienen tacón son bastante seguras porque tienen taquitos antideslizantes en las suelas, perfectas para lluvia o nieve!

If you follow me on Instagram, I am sure you have seen this red coat more than once. Since it does not cover my neck and there is a lot of details on the front, instead of wearing it with a scarf I wear it with a thick turtleneck sweater. Sometimes I wear it with browns and sometimes with black. I love how it looks with these boots, that have a high heel but are safe in the rain and snow thanks to the rubber grip soles!

8. Abrigo guateado negro / Black quilted coat

Para días con más actividad en el exterior, este abrigo de plumas sencillo también es una buena opción. El guateado a rombos le da un toque elegante, y además repele el agua y es muy ligero. Como no tiene cuello, lo suelo combinar con una buena bufanda o con un chal que también me cubra el cabello.

This minimal down puffer is a great option for days with lots of activities outdoors. The diamond quilting is an elegant detail, it repells water and is very light. The lack of collar creates the perfect ocassion to wear a nice scarf or a shawl wrapped around your head and neck.

Es un abrigo que también sirve para ponerlo debajo de otro abrigo más fino, como el rosa, y así ir más calentita.

It is a coat that can also be used under another thin coat, like my pink one, to make it warmer.

 

9. Abrigo de alpaca chocolate / Chocolate alpaca coat

Un abrigo de alpaca marrón o uno tipo teddy también son muy buenas opciones para ir cómodas y abrigadas en pleno invierno. Y al mismo nivel de comodidad y calor están las botas tipo UGG, perfectas para esos días que no nos apetece salir de casa y preferiríamos hibernar bajo el edredón. Para avivar un poco el conjunto le doy un toque de color con un jersey y guantes en rosa.

An alpaca or a teddy coat are also great options to be warm and comfortable in Winter days. And UGG style boots are on the same level of comfort and warmth, peerfect for those days when you feel like staying home under the blanket. To brighten up the outfit I have added some pink gloves matching my sweater.

 

10. Plumas abrigado / Cozy puffer

Para días de frio extremo y actividades de montaña el plumas tradicional, también conocido como mi abrigo "Michelin", es la opción mas sensata. Para una caminata por la nieve lo pongo con unos botines de agua, gorro y guantes rosas y una buena mochila en vez de bolso.

For extreme cold weather and mountain activities I go for the traditional puffer, also known as my "Michelin" coat. I wore it with my rain booties for some snow trekking, completed with pink hat and gloves, and a good backpack instead of a bag.

Habéis notado alguna pieza que se repita? El bolso saco Noe de piel epi es uno de mis favoritos para estos días de mal tiempo porque este tipo de piel repele el agua y la nieve, así que no me llevo sustos. Otros bolsos que también son muy buena opción en días húmedos son los de charol y los bolsos Le Pliage de Longchamp.
