Buenos días! Uno de los motivos de mi último viaje a Nueva York fue visitar la exposición de moda del Met, que este año está dedicada al concepto del "Camp". Una estética exagerada, ostentosa, con sentido del humor y sexual. A lo largo de la historia a vivido diferentes etapas, y como una imagen vale más que mil palabras a continuación os resumo en imágenes esta exposición, que probablemente no sea la más bonita que os he enseñado ni tenga muchos vestidos de ensueño, pero abre la mente y reflexiona sobre cada pieza!

Good morning! One of the highlights of my latest trip to New York was visiting the fashion exhibition at the Met, which this year focuses on Camp: an aesthetic related to the exaggeration, with a sense of humor and a lot of sexuality. The concept has evolved during the years, and, since an image is worth a thousand words, I'm showing you this exhibition in a few images, which might be not the prettiest dresses ever, but they surely open your mind and make you think a lot!

Buenos días! Hoy os traigo un pequeño resumen de la exposición de Rodarte que estuvo hasta hace unas semanas en el Museum of Women in the Arts en Washington. Las hermanas Mulleavy llevan desde 2005 creando originales prendas que las han llevado a ser consideradas las Basquiat de la moda. Sus diseños experimentan con diferentes tejidos que condicionan la forma y volúmenes de la prenda y los trabajan con diferentes técnicas para conseguir resultados innovadores. Puede que en general no sean los vestidos más favorecedores que hayamos visto (ni los más ponibles), pero me parece muy interesante la atrevida mezcla de materiales y técnicas que utilizan y cómo reflejan sus inspiraciones en cada colección. Good morning! Today I'm showing you some images from the Rodarte exhibition hosted at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in DC. The Mulleavy sisters have been creating unique garments since 2005, becoming the fashion equivalent to Basquiat. Their designs experiment with different fabrics and processes, layering techniques to destroy and build volumes in an innovative way. Their dresses might not be the most flattering we have seen, but I find their bold mix of textures and techniques really interesting, and their inspirations are also really shown on each collection.
