Buenos días! Hace muchos años estuve a punto de irme de au pair a Cape Cod. Finalmente acabé en Irlanda, pero me quedé con el gusanillo de conocer aquel lugar, así que planeamos una escapada desde Boston para explorar esta zona costera de Massachussets.

Good morning!  A long time ago I almost moved to Cape Cod as an aupair. I ended up in Ireland that Summer, but I had wanted to visit this place  since then, so we planned a short trip from Boston to this costal area of Massachussets.

Empezamos por el punto más lejano, Provincetown. Un pequeño pueblo marítimo donde pasear, comer la  típica langosta de estas costas y disfrutar de las vistas. Es un destino muy popular en la comunidad LGTB+ y suele  ser muy animado en temporada alta.

Let's start on the extreme tip  of Cape Cod; Provincetown. A small town by the sea where you can walk, eat the typical lobster and enjoy the seaview. It's a very popular destination for the LGTB+ comunity and very lively in the high season.

El clima estaba medio raro, pero aun así paramos en mitad de la nada, caminamos unos cuantos kilómetros entre la maleza para llegar a una playa que estaba ocupada por una brutalidad de leones marinos. Según nos vieron llegar se metieron corriendo al agua pero se quedaron ahí, observándonos fijamente durante toda la siesta...

The weather was weird those days, but we made a stopin the middle of nowhere, walked a few kilometers and ended up at a beach occupied by a huge amount of sea lions. They run to the water the second they saw us, but stayed there watching us carefully the whole time...

 

 

 

También paramos a conocer Hyannis, una de las ciudades más importantes del cabo, y famosa por la casa de los Kennedy, que se convirtió en la residencia de vacaciones del presidente JFK durante sus años en la Casa Blanca. 

We also stopped by Hyannis,  one of  the most important cities in Cape  Cod, famous for being the home of the Kennedy family,  and the presidential  vacation home durring JFK days at the White House.

Buenos días! Hoy os llevo de excursión a Newport, considerada la capital naútica del mundo. Si habéis oído hablar de este lugar seguramente os imaginéis un pueblo pesquero, con un buen puerto, casitas de madera pintada de blanco y mucha decoración en azul... no vais desencaminadas, pues Newport tiene una gran tradición como ciudad de vacaciones para amantes del mar y la navegación. De hecho aquí se celebró la Copa América durante más de 50 años.

Good morning! Today I am taking you to Newport, aka the nautical capital of the World. If you have heard about this place, you might be picturing a seaside town, with a nice port, houses covered in white-painted wood, and lots of blue decoration... You are not mistaken, since Newport has been a Summer resort for sea lovers for the longest time. In fact, the America's Cup was held heree for over 50 years.

También aquí nacieron los U.S. Open de tenis y de golf, pero lo que yo no me imaginaba encontrar es una avenida inmensa plagada de mansiones de todos los estilos, a cuál más espectacular! Esta localidad tiene la mayor concentración de casas coloniales de Estados Unidos y muchas de ellas se pueden visitar como museo.

It was also here where the U.S. Open for tennis and golf were created. But what I did not imagine was a hugee avenue filled with mansions in every style, all equally amazing! This town has the biggest concentration of colonial houses in the US, and some are open to the public like museums.

El tiempo que nos hizo fue muy desapacible, de esos días de viento húmedo y una niebla que lo volvía todo gris, pero a la vez la bruma tan brillante no te dejaba abrir los ojos del todo. Me hubiese encantado conocer este lugar con sol, pero esa niebla lo envolvió todo de un cierto misterio y algo de magia, así que al final disfrutamos mucho descubriendo los rincones tan sorprendentes y las playas tan originales.

The weather was very unpleasant, you know that kind of windy humid days with fog that turns everything grey, but also makes the sky so bright you can't barely open your eyes. I would have loved visiting this place on a sunny week, but the fog actually wrapped everything in a magic misterious vibe, so we actually loved exploring the unexpected corners and the unique beaches in this weather.
