WHERE: Washington, District of Columbia, USA
WHEN: Winter 2018
WEATHER: Sunny and very cold

Good morning! Today I'm finally showing you some pictures of Washington, DC. United States capital has many things to be discovered and I hope to share it with you as I explore the city. But for now let's take a first walk by the main landmarks while I share my first impressions!

We are in the middle of Winter and have reached minus 18 Celsius but, despite cold and snow, it's usually a sunny city, pretty joyful and great for walking when the weather is nice. If you look up there are always planes flying low, and if you look down you'll see the squirrels going from the floor to the trees.

We start our Mall tour from West to East at Lincoln Memorial, with the huge statue of the president looking towards the horizon.

The reflecting pool goes from Lincoln Memorial to World War II Memorial, a fountain surrounded by wreaths representing the states, the Atlantic and the Pacific.

Then comes Washington Monument, an impressing white marble obelisk which is the tallest building in the city. Towards the North you will find the White House, residence of the President.

Going along the Mall we find a lot of museums like the African-American History one, the Smithsonians and the Botanical Garden.

The Capitol is at the end of the Mall, with a magnificent dome which you can also see from many parts of the city.

Let's go back to the White House area, with massive Hebert C. Hoover nearby.

Some bank buildings, SunTrust corner is one of my favourites.

Lafayette square is usually crowded cause the White House is in front. Turists and protesters gather around. You'll see all kind of reasons why the protest, but mainly is against the President.

Close to the White House are some administration buildings and mansions turned into museums. Eisenhower building is another favourite.

The city has many churches all over, they look really different, but most of them have pointy towers.

Me encanta descubrir fachadas originales!

Between the White House and the Capitol there is a cheerful area with offices, shops and restaurants. I love finding unique facades!

Chinatown is the most eclectic neighbourhood, with plenty of places to try asian food.

The city in general has a mixed of different architectural styles, you never know what you'll find around the corner.

And I finish this first walk at the Wharf, the port and new restaurants area which is the most happening place for Sunday brunch. We usually go to the fish market there, will tell you about it soon!

LO MEJOR/THE BEST: El sol y las ardillas / The sun and squirrels

LO PEOR/THE WORST: El frío polar / Extremely cold weather
