DIY: How to repair a Louis Vuitton bag

By Sugar Lane - Monday, December 14, 2020

Good morning! Today I'm sharing my vintage Louis Vuitton Alma bag repair. First let me tell you, I had liked this bag for a while, but I was not sure I wanted it. Louis Vuitton monogram print is really a classic, and I love the brown hues combination, but I'm not crazy about logos and I really don't like items that show off the brand, that's why I usually stay away from this kind of prints. The other thing that bothered me, is the high volume of fake replicas Louis Vuitton has. The strong presence of LV duplicates sold in beaches, metro stations or flea markets make me doubt every LV bag I see on the streets. Those two reasons made me resist this bag for a few years, but for some reason I kept eyeing it all the time. I'm also not a big fan of brand new vachetta leather, this is a kind of leather that gets better as it ages, so if I was ever going to get this bag, I knew it would be a vintage piece.

After months searching every online preloved site, I found this one at a nice price and in an acceptable state. So I got it and started the intensive care process. I had already repaired my gorgeous Lady Dior, which I previously shared here, and a unique Chanel piece, that you might have seen on my Instagram, and I hope to share soon here.

But for now, here is the video with the whole repairing process for my vintage Alma by Louis Vuitton, I hope you like it and find it helpful for a similar bag.
