If you are still in Madrid you can enjoy the last rays of sun and have a walk on the royal gardens. This pictures are a few months old, my dear AnnChic took them before leaving Spain, and I've found them now that we're so far away, so I wanna send her a huge kiss and all my love to her beautiful baby girl!
Friday is here! And it's time for a Deco DIY to give your walls a different touch. As a designer I tend to fall in love with fabrics, usually silks, and when I have leftovers I don't have the courage to throw them away, so I keep them in my remnants box, in case someday I come up with an idea. And today we're gonna frame them!!! For this you need pieces of different fabrics, printed paper or any other frameable stuff, and appropriate frames (prease don't use baroque frames for vichy fabrics!)
We start the week with a very special collaboration with Sensahion, where I'm gonna show you outfits inspired by traditional costumes from different places of the World, all of them really colorful. Some of you might have seen some images already at Sensahion Editorial website, and here you have the first destination: Tibet, a far away land in the Himalayas, where women wear sober silk chubas covered with tibetan lamb fur to stay warm in the cold winter of the region with the highest altitude in the World.
Pasad buen finde!
I know today is Friday, but I'm not posting any DIY because it's my BIRTHDAY ! ! ! ! ! So it's time to celebrate with a dress from my collection. I've chosen this one cause I love the shape, how comfy is and the touch of the shot silk in green and fuchsia. I better go and blow the candles! Have a lovely weekend!
Going on with alternatives to a simple coat, today I'm wearing something more fancy. It's one of my designs, a cape made out of Indian silk outside and lamb fur inside to keep me warm. I love the bold green-orange color mix, what about you?
Buenos dĆas! CĆ³mo va la semana? Gris, verdad?
Good morning! How's your week going? It's pretty gray and cloudy in here, so I'm trying my best to make my days brighter with colorful clothes. This coat was one of my first designs, and it's made out of a silk sari which belonged to an Indian bride long time ago. Apart from the golden embroidery it has some details in green, contrasting the fuchsia shade. This time I've match it with golden and black for an evening out. Do you like it?
Today I'm wearing a special dress. It's one of my designs, based on the tibetan attire, and made out of a recycle indian silk. I couldn't be any happier with the result, the combination of such neat pattern and the beautiful silk color is just perfect for me! How do you like it?
Khadi silk is a handspun and handwoven fabric, that gave name to one of Ghandi's freedom movements. I fell in love with a sari made out of this silk and, as I don't see myself walking in a sari all over Madrid (yet), I have turned it into a light little dress.
This tibetan dress, known as chuba or chupa, was my choice for one of the most glamorous parties of the summer. The typical tibetan attire has a wide skirt folded towards the back and tied around the wais, and is usually worn with a long sleeved blouse under it. Mine is in blue silk with golden motives, what do you think?
