Sugar Lane started as a life diary when I moved to India for a year, but
not many of you know about that. If you are interested you can find it
here: Sugar Lane Discovering India.
After my return to Madrid I started my Fashion Design studies and I
opened this new blog, focused in fashion. Today is sugarlaneblog.com
10th anniversary and, to celebrated it, I want to look back, see how my
style evolved during these 10 years, what would I wear again and what
wouldn't even cross my mind, what was a seasonal trend and what became
part of my closet. Would you walk with me down memory lane?
Today we are travelling back to 2011, and there are a few things that surprised me, like how much orange and green I wore, you can see some here, here, here and here. My affair with culottes also started that year, with this recently retired piece that I wore until they fall apart. The first outfit I shared was pretty 80's vibe, and I think I would gladly wear it again today. Hats and scarves were also very present in my wardrobe then. Hats, headbands and caps were always part of my style, and scarves were an incorporation during my days in India. For some weird reason I wore a strapless dress over a blouse and a sweater twice. I would not wear that again, but if you want to laugh you can check them here and here... Capes have always been very present, my favorite is this vintage piece my mother used to wear when she was pregnant with me. Fantasy tights and leather clothes have also been part of my style for many years, but I'm glad these ones are nowhere to be found! And overalls are also something I love, but I don't wear the often cause they are really uncomfortable when you need to use the toilet...
Of all the outfits I shared on 2011, the one I would not wear again is THIS ONE! I have no words for the mix and for the location I choose to take the pictues. And I even remember it was very criticized on the (already shut down) Vogue Spain Foro, where participants used to rip apart all bloggers for no reason, but here maybe they had a point.
And the outfit I keep wearing 10 years later, so I have chosen to make a tribute in today's post, is this red mini dress that you already saw me wearing in Versailles and that, despite being from Primark, has survived the times and a few rounds in the washing machine. I keep wearing it every Winter with black boots, turtleneck sweater and the red beret my parents gifted me during that trip to Paris
