Buenos días! Hace unos meses os enseñé el proceso de limpieza y reparación de mi bolso vintage Alma, de Louis Vuitton, pero para acortar el video no os enseñé cómo devolví el brillo a los herrajes, que estaban bastante oscuros y oxidados. 

Good morning! A few months ago I shared the cleaning and repair process of my vintage Louis Vuitton Alma bag. I did not want to make the video too long, so I skipped the hardware cleaning process, removing the tarnish and getting back the shine. 

Así que en el video de hoy os muestro cómo limpiar cremalleras de metal, tiradores, remaches y demás herrajes para dejarlos brillantes y como nuevos. La verdad es que al principio me gustaba el aspecto del metal envejecido y pensé en dejarlo tal cual, pero cuando me pongo a reparar cualquier cosa suelo acabar por tocar cada milímetro, así que no me pude resistir a sacarle el lustre a cada pieza!

So, today I want to focus on the vintage brass hardware and show you how to clean the zipper, pullers, rings, studs, lock and key. I will remove the tarnish and return it's shine so it looks almost new. I actually like the vintage vibe of the dark metal and thought about leaving it like that, but when I start repairing something I don't know where to stop and I couldn't help restoring every small piece!

El bolso lo compré vintage y lo tengo algo menos de un año y os cuento que, pese a no estar 100% segura cuando lo compré, lo estoy utilizando muchísimo. El bolso en sí me encantaba, pero yo no soy muy de logos, y esto me echaba para atrás bastante. Sé que Louis Vuitton hace el modelo Alma, igual que casi todos sus modelos, en varios estampados y en piel lisa, pero a mí me gustaba con el clásico estampado monogram. Pensaréis que no suena muy coherente, que si no me van los logos cómo es que me gustaba el bolso con este estampado, pero así soy yo! El caso es que, pese a mis dudas iniciales, fue un acierto! Lo utilizo prácticamente todas las semana, me resulta bastante cómodo al tener un asa corta y una correa larga para llevarlo cruzado o colgado al hombro, y el tamaño es perfecto porque puedo llevar mi cámara y muchas otras cosas, y además no pesa nada! Si os interesa que os haga un video más detallado con mis primeras impresiones y mi opinión tras un año de uso, dejadme un comentario con lo que os gustaría saber!

I purchased this vintage bag almost a year ago and I have to tell you that, even when I was not 100% sure buying it, I am really wearing it a lot. I loved the bag, but I'm not really into logos, so that made me think about it a lot. And I know Louis Vuitton offers this bag, like most models, in different prints and solids, but the one I liked was the monogram canvas. You might think that doesn't make any sense, but that is what it was! The point is, after all my doubts, the bag has proved to be a winner! I've been wearing it almost every week, it really is comfy cause it has the top handle and the crossbody strap, it has the perfect size to carry all my stuff, including my DSLR and it is very light! Buenos días! Seguimos con esta serie de looks para celebrar 10 años de Sugar Lane Blog! Hoy retrocedemos hasta el 2013 para ver qué tendencias pasaron sin más por mi armario, y qué se quedó hasta el día de hoy. 

Good morning! We continue with this series of looks to celebrate 10 years of Sugar Lane Blog! And today we are going back to 2013 to explore the trends that ended there and the ones that stayed in my closet until now.

De ese año, he encontrado algunos looks casual que me puse para un viaje a Teruel y Albarracín y para otro a Úbeda (mi peor modelito de ese año, sin duda) y Baeza, y otros mucho más exóticos que llevé durante unas vacaciones en Egipto o durante los meses que viví en la India.

I found some casual outfits I wore on trips to  Teruel and Albarracín as well as to Úbeda (my worst outfit of the year) and Baeza. I also wore more exotic looks to a vacation in Egypt and during the months I lived in India.

El color siempre ha estado muy presente en mi armario, y veo que ese año el burdeos, naranja y verde seguían protagonizando algunos outfits. Podéis ver un par de ellos con un toque verde Kelly, que vuelve a ser tendencia en 2021, aquí, aquí y aquí! Otro de los looks que incorpora toques cítricos y que curiosamente es uno de los más vistos de estos 10 años, es este otro! 

Color has always been really present in my clothes and accessories, and that year I see a lot of burgundy, orange and green. You can see a couple of Kelly green outfits, which happens to be a trend in 2021, here, here and here! Anothe outfit with citrus touches, which randomly is one of my most viewed posts in the last 10 years, is this one! 

Durante ese año también lancé mis primeras colecciones Sugar Lane Design,  protagonizadas por turbantes, alpargatas, batas de seda y chaquetas. A día de hoy la tienda sigue funcionando con colecciones temporales de accesorios, que mantienen la idea original de realizar piezas únicas reciclando sedas Indias que en su sida anterior fueron saris.

During 2013 I also launched my firsts Sugar Lane Design collections, consisting of turbans, espadrilles, silk robes y jackets. Nowadays I continue selling my accessories every season, keeping alive the original idea of recycling Indian silks that were saris in their past.

Un accesorio que también me puse mucho fue el sombrero, algunos de ellos los sigo utilizando, como este burdeos o esta pamela. Y hubo uno negro que me puse muchísimo, pero que ahora lo veo y no me gusta tanto... podéis verlo aquí y aquí. Qué os parece?

Another accessory that I wore a lot was the hat. I keep wearing some of them, like this burgundy one or  this pamela. And I also wore a black one that I don't like anymore, but I wore it here and here. What do you think?

De las prendas más utilizadas me quedo con 4 favoritos: un abrigo de fieltro y lentejuelas que lo utilizo tanto del derecho como del revés según la ocasión... lo tenéis aquí, aquí y en uno de mis looks favoritos aquí! Y 3 de los componentes de el look recreado hoy, que es una combinación de básicos perfectos y de lo más acertada para la primavera; las camisetas de rayas marineras, que cada año me acompañan, y ese año me puse aquí, aquí y aquí. Las gabardinas, que podéis ver aquí y aquí. Y por último los zapatos de estampado de leopardo, que dan un toque diferente a cualquier look.

Regarding my most worn items, I have 4 favorites: a felt coat covered in sequins that I sometimes wear inside out... you can see it here, here and in one of my favorite looks here! And 3 items present on my recreated look today, which is a mix of perfect basics, wonderful for Spring time: the navy stripes tee, which I also wore that year here, here and here. The trench coat, that you can see here and here. And finally, the leopard print shoes, that give any outfit a different twist!

Good morning! Days are getting warmer and it's the perfect season to show your ankles, so it's time to rise your jeans hems! I am going to show you different ways to cuff your denim hems, and you can also remember how to cut them and get a distressed effect HERE!

The trick to adjust your jeans length properly, and avoid making your legs look shorter, is showing the slimmest part of your ankle, and adjusting the hem just above there. You should always avoid the edge or the stitching line falling on a wide part of your calves, since this will make your leg look wider and shorter than they are.

Buenos días! Siguiendo con la celebración de estos 10 años de blog, hoy viajamos al 2012. Un año en el que, gracias al boom de los blogs de moda, asistí a un montón de eventos y conocí a gente maravillosa con la que a día de hoy sigo manteniendo el contacto. Eran los tiempos en que cada semana nos invitaban a 2 o 3 eventos en Madrid o alguna otra ciudad, nos alimentábamos de canapés y volvíamos a casa con bolsas con regalos para promocionar y muestras de productos que salían al mercado.

Good morrning! Continuing with this blog 10th anniversary celebration, today we are travelling back to 2012. A year when, thanks to the blogger boom, I attended many events, meeting wonderful bloggers that I still keep in touch with. Those were the times when we were invited to 2 or 3 events in Madrid or some other city every week, they fed us finger food and we went back home carrying bags full of gifts and samples we were supposed to feature online.

Fue un año en el que vestí looks mucho más casual en mi viaje a Noruega y otros mucho más exóticos en mis vacaciones por la India. Y luego están 2 looks (a falta de uno) terribles con calcetines altos que llevé tan contenta de paseo por Amsterdam y Budapest.

During that year I wore a lot of casual outfits in my trip o Norway, and some way more exotic on my India vacation. And then I wore a couple (cause one wasn't enogh!) of terrible outfits with knee high socks, in  Amsterdam and Budapest.

Echando la vista atrás me he encontrado con muchos looks con turbantes, que fusionan mi amor por los pañuelos y por todos los accessorios para la cabeza! Además este accesorio protagoniza la ilustración del logo del blog desde el inicio, podeís recordar algunos looks con turbante aquí, aquí, aquí y mi favorito aquí! 

Looking back, I found a lot of turbans, which combine both my love for scarves as well as for any head acceessory! This accessory is also present from the beeginning of th blog on my logo, and you can remember some outfits here, here, here and my favorite here!

Otra de las prendas que ya invadían mi armario eran las chaquetas en todas sus versiones; vaquera, de cuero, de ante, de terciopelo camel como esta, de doble botonadura gris como esta o de tweed como esta otra. La verdad es que mi primera chaqueta de tweed la tuve con 17 o 18 años, y unos años después se ve que le cogí el gusto y podéis verlo en más de una prenda aquí o aquí...

Another item that was already very present on my closet were blazers and jackets in all their forms; denim, leather, suede, camel velvet like this, gray double breasted like this or tweed like this one. I actually had my first tweed blazer when I was 17 or 18, and it looks like some years later I fell in love with tweed and wore it in many ways like here or here...

Puede que el 2012 fuese la primera vez que me puse una falda plisada (sin contar el uniforme del colegio), que también es un tipo de falda que sigo poniéndome cada año. Celebré el primer aniversario del este blog con esta falda, que también me puse aquí y aquí!

Maybe 2012 was the first time I wore a pleated skirt (if we don't count my school uniforrrm),  which has become one of my favorite kind of skirts. I wore a this pleated skirt to celebrate my blog first anniversary, and I also woree it here y here!

Las prendas de seda también empezaban a hacer apariciones en mi armario con algunos de mis primeros diseños, aquí podéis ver la prenda que originó Sugar Lane Design, y tenéis algunas otras aquí, aquí, aquí, aquí, aquí y aquí. Como véis aquí mi estilo era mucho más barroco, e incluso me atreví a diseñar este par de zapatos! Pero además de la seda, la piel es otro de mis materiales favoritos, y ese año la utilicé, además de en chaquetas, en varios pantalones que podéis recordar aquí, aquí, aquí y aquí.

Silk clothes also started to show on some outfits when I wore some of my first designs,  here is the piec that started Sugar Lane Design, and you can see some others here, here, here, here, here and here. My style was quite baroque then, as you can see here, and I even designed this pair of shoes! And, apart frrom silk, leather is one of my favorite materials, and that year I wore it in jackets as well as in pants, which you can see here, here, here and here.

En cuanto a colores, en 2012 utilicé bastante el verde menta, que estaba muy de moda, aunque su versión más gris no me favorecía demasiado, y el burdeos, que hoy sigue siendo de mis favoritos, lo podéis ver en algunos looks aquí, aquí, aquí y aquí!

And what about colors? Mint green was really trendy in 2012, but maybe its greyish version did not look great on me, and I also wore tons of burgundy, which remains one of my favorite colors, and you can see here, here, here and here!

Pero si hay un look que continúa en mi armario cada temporada y que tiene infinitas versiones es un sweater de cuello alto negro con pantalones ajustados en el mismo color. Es el look básico perfecto para cualquier ocasión en los meses fríos, y la base ideal para combinar cualquier accesorio discreto o llamativo. En 2012 lo llevé de esta manera, con un pañuelo para protegerme del viento y las botas marrones por las que más veces me han preguntado en mi vida. Y en el post de hoy he decidido recrearlo así:

But, if there is an outfit that has always been part of my closet, and that has endless veersions, it's a black turttleneck sweater with skinny pants in the same color.  It is the perrfect basic look for any cold winter outfit, and the perfect base to combine any subtle or statement accessory. In 2012 I wore it this way, with a scarf to protect my hairrr from the wind and the brown boots that have gotten me the most compliments ever. So I decided to restyle it for today's post, and here is the result:

Si, las flores son un cliché, pero funcionan! A quién no le gusta tener un bonito ramo en casa? Sobre todo este año, con el tiempo que hemos estado encerrados, los que vivimos en un piso agradecemos inmensamente cualquier presencia de la naturaleza en casa. Me vale un cactus, pero siempre prefiero unas flores!

Yes, I know flowers are a cliché, but they work! We all love having a beautiful bouquet decorating our home. Specially this year, after so much time locked down, if you live in an apartment with no garden you will appreciate any nature presence in the house. A cactus works, but I always favor flowers!

2. Desayunad en la cama / Breakfast in bed

Preparad un buen desayuno y lleváoslo a la cama. Qué mejor manera de empezar el día? El truco perfecto para que todo esté estable y las sábanas no acaben llenas de café y migas es este!

Make a nice breakfast and have it in bed. Any better ideas to start the day? And here is the perfect trick to make it steady and avoid any crumbs and coffee on your bed sheets!

3. Escribid una tarjeta / Write a card

Hace cuanto no escribes una tarjeta romántica? Deja el teclado del teléfono un rato, coge papel y boli, y escribe algo bonito. No necesitáis comprar la tarjeta, os dejo un DIY aquí!

When was thee last time you wrote a romantic letter? Leave your phone aside for a while, grab paper and a pen and write down something nice. You do not need to purchase a card, you can make your own with this DIY!

4. Pedid la cena en vuestro restaurante favorito / Order dinner from your favorite restaurant

Se te ocurre una forma mejor de frenar los contagios y apoyar a la hostelería? Los restaurantes están pasando unos meses difíciles y muchos de ellos ya preparán sus menús para llevar, así que es la ocasión perfecta de pedir vuestros platos favoritos y disfrutarlos en casa. Añade estos manteles individuales, unas velas y pon una buena playlist para hacerlo más romántico.

Puede que el sofá, la manta y Netflix lo tengamos muy visto, pero si te apetece acurrucarte y ver una peli romántica, también puedes hacerlo especial: Abre un buen vino, enciende una velas, prepara una buena tabla de quesos, con uvas, pan y frutos secos y elige una buena película de esta lista:

Si hay algo que echo muchísimo de menos es ir al spa, pero un baño siempre hace que se me pase un poco, y también es un plan perfecto en pareja. Podéis hacerlo más especial con sales y burbujas, velas y música o mascarillas y aceites esenciales.

Aunque este año no tenemos fácil viajar, una opción estupenda es recopilar videos y fotos de nuestros viajes. Quizás puedas hacer un album o montar una proyección en la pared del salón. Ya sabéis que recordar es volver a vivir!

We can not travel much this year, but we can use that time to put together photos and videos from past trips. Maybe you can makee an album, or project a video session on your living room wall. They say to remember is to live again!

Yo soy de las que piensa que, si puedes acabar el día bailando, no puedes quejarte. Abrid una botella de champagne o preparad unos cockails, poneos guapas y guapos, retirad la mesa de centro y acabad el día bailando al ritmo de vuestra playlist favorita!
